Who I Am
Athlete. Sales professional. Strategy student.
I'm Peter Jochem van de Groep, 24 years old, from Bunschoten. My life runs on the same principle whether I'm on the pitch, at the office, or behind my laptop: show up consistently, work hard, and reflect on what I can do better.
I've been with MATCH-DAY, a Dutch B2B outbound sales agency, since February 2021. As an SDR in a team of 7, I manage outbound campaigns, host client onboardings and heads-up sessions, and contribute to our quarterly targets. It's here that the commercial theory of my MBA comes to life every single day.
Before the VU, I graduated from Windesheim Hogeschool in Commerciële Economie (HBO) with a GPA of 7.52 across main courses, including a 9 for my internship and a 9 for my integrale project. That foundation in applied commercial science is what brought me to the Strategy & Organization specialisation at VU Amsterdam.
Outside of work and study, I play soccer at the Derde Divisie A level, three training sessions a week in the evening, with a contract running through June 2027. I've also trained at the gym consistently for four years. These aren't just hobbies. They are the disciplines that taught me how to manage time, recover from setbacks, and stay motivated when results are slow.
